There are many summer programs offered in Italy and throughout Europe, and you
should choose carefully both in terms of what the programs promise and how the
programs deliver their promises.
With respect to that, please keep in mind the following:
a) International Lyric Academy in Rome produced by the New Operafestival di Roma
has successfully operated in Rome since the summer season of 1995. Please don't
confuse our program with others that use variations of our name.
b) ILAR is a training program offering voice lessons, master classes with the most
famous singers in the world, coachings by the best pianists from major Theatres
in the world like the Arena di Verona, Rossini Opera Festival, Ravenne Festival,
Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
We also offer full opera recitations with the opportunity to perform in professionally
staged productions, with a full professional Orchestra.
c) ILAR guarantees your role with a contract at the time of your acceptance.

d) Academy full tuition includes: all classes and accommodations at the marvelous
Centro Universitario Marianum. All rooms are air conditioned, have a bathroom,
double occupancy and include daily maid service and breakfast.
Single occupancy rooms are available for an additional $ 300 and must be reserved
at the time the first deposit is due.
Lunch and dinner are not included. You are in a walking distance from the Colosseum,
San Giovanni Basilica, Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, and Piazza Venezia.
Piazza di Spagna, Via del Corso and piazza del Popolo, if you want to go shopping,
are five minutes away by metro.

e) ILAR’s singers have constant exposure to important television programs,
national and international. ILAR, with the Teatro dell’Opera and Santa Cecilia,
is considered one of the most important programs of the Estate Romana,
attracting the most renown names in the field of telecommunications and radio.
f) Many of our students, thanks to the exposure received at ILAR, have become
internationally known, and they now sing in places such as the Metropolitan Opera,
Houston Grand Opera, Baltimore Opera, Minnesota Opera, New York City Opera,
Sarasota Opera, Utah Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera, among others.
g) For the last three years many renowned American artists have asked to participate in
ILAR’s program because here, in Rome, they have the possibility both to be heard
by a European audience and to work with some of the best teachers in the world.
